Licence

Stagewright is proprietary, closed-source commercial software. The terms are intentionally short and written in plain English; the full text ships with the app and is reproduced below.

What a licence gets you

Buy a licence at nubisco.io/products/stagewright and you get a perpetual, personal licence to install and use the version you purchased, on hardware you own, for any purpose, including paid live performance. Every 1.x release is included with a version 1 licence.

You can try Stagewright free for 30 days before you buy.

What you may not do

  • Redistribute, resell, sublicense, rent, or host Stagewright as a service.
  • Bundle Stagewright, or a meaningful portion of it, inside another product.
  • Reverse engineer the software, except where the law expressly allows it.
  • Remove or bypass the licence-check mechanism or copyright notices.

Your purchase does not expire

A purchased licence is perpetual and needs no licence server in the audio path, so a copy you bought keeps running offline. If Nubisco ever discontinues Stagewright, we intend to give existing licence holders a way to keep running the version they bought. Project files are local JSON in a documented format, so your work stays yours either way.

Why commercial

Stagewright is built for working musicians, and selling it directly is how we fund a tool that has to survive four-hour sets and years of plugin churn. No subscription, no licence server in the audio path, no account required to play. You pay once, you own that version, and we stay in the business of keeping it stable.

Proprietary software, used under the Stagewright Software Licence.
