Reference grid

A reference grid draws helper lines over your canvas so you can keep drawings straight, balanced, or in perspective. It is only a guide: the grid is never part of your drawing, so it does not show up when you copy, paste, or export.

Turning it on

Tap the grid button in the top toolbar and pick a type. Pick Off to hide it. The grid tracks the canvas as you zoom and pan.

Grid types

• Grid: an even square grid, handy for lining things up.
• Rule of Thirds: two lines each way, a classic guide for placing your subject off-centre for a nicer composition.
• Isometric: a triangular grid at 30°, for isometric drawings (game art, boxes, tiles).
• 2-Point Perspective: two vanishing points on the horizon, for drawing boxes and rooms that recede convincingly.
• 3-Point Perspective: adds a third vanishing point above or below, for dramatic worm's-eye or bird's-eye views.

Use a grid to rough in a scene, then turn it off (or just ignore it) once your lines are laid down.
