Import (FlipaClip & photos)
Bringing in a FlipaClip project
Already have animations in FlipaClip? DoodLoop can import them, with their layers intact, so you can keep working.
- Get the
.fcfile onto your iPad (AirDrop it, or save it to the Files app, for example to iCloud Drive or On My iPad). - In DoodLoop, tap the Import button on the home screen.
- Browse to the
.fcfile and pick it.
DoodLoop reads the canvas size, frame rate, frames, and layers, and turns the project into a native DoodLoop file you fully own. A big project can take a moment to import; a progress bar shows how it is going.
What comes across
Your frames, layers, and drawings import faithfully. A solid background becomes the canvas color. Some FlipaClip-specific layer effects (certain blend modes) may come in as Normal, your artwork itself is always preserved exactly.
Importing photos
You can bring a photo onto a layer to use as reference (something to trace over) or as part of your scene. Tap Import in the editor's top bar and pick:
- Camera: snap a photo right now and draw over it. The first time, iPad asks permission to use the camera. (Camera isn't available in the Simulator.)
- Photo: choose an image from your photo library. The first time, iPad asks permission to access your photos.
Put the photo on its own layer, lower its opacity, and draw over it on a layer above, a great way to learn animation by tracing real motion.
