Text & Eyedropper

Text

The Text tool adds words to your drawing, titles, captions, speech, or sound effects. You edit it right on the canvas, so what you type is what you see.

  1. Tap the Text tool, then tap the canvas.
  2. Type your words. As you type, the text previews live in the chosen font, size, and colour. Pick a font (each is shown in its own typeface), set the size and alignment, and choose a colour.
  3. Tap Done on the keyboard (or Add) to place it. It drops in as a movable selection, so you can position, scale, or rotate it (two fingers to scale/rotate) before it becomes part of the current layer.

Fonts

DoodLoop ships 32 fonts, grouped here by feel (each previews in its own typeface in the picker):

  • Everyday / sans-serif: System, Bold, Rounded, Avenir, Futura, Gill Sans, Optima, Verdana.
  • Serif: Serif, Georgia, Palatino, Baskerville, Didot, Cochin, Bodoni, Hoefler, Superclarendon, Copperplate.
  • Typewriter / monospace: Mono, Courier, Typewriter.
  • Handwriting & marker: Marker, Chalk, Chalkboard, Handwriting, Noteworthy.
  • Script & decorative: Script, Chancery, Savoye, Zapfino, Papyrus, Party.

TIP

Put text on its own layer so you can move or hide it without touching your art. For animated captions, change the text a little on each frame.

Eyedropper

The Eyedropper picks up a color that is already in your drawing so you can paint with the exact same shade.

  1. Tap the Eyedropper tool.
  2. Tap the spot on the canvas whose color you want.

The color well updates to match, and the color is added to your recents. Switch back to the brush and keep drawing.

DoodLoop is proprietary software. No ads, no tracking, your files stay yours.
